The challenge was to design an NFT Music product that allows users to stream music and purchase NFTs from their favorite artists. So if you are a SoundCloud artist struggling to get months’ rent, Hive is for you.
Earn money by selling your NFT music to loyal fans.
1. Overview.
After one of the team members created a product brief, essentially explaining everything NFT, because I am a dummy regarding Non-Fundable Tokens. But with his expertise and our team’s Branding & UX/UI skills, we created a streaming platform for artists to sell their music for profit.
Our Users Problem!
1. The convenience of subscription-based streaming on platforms like Spotify often comes at the expense of the artists we love.
2. Many creators are severely under-compensated, and most will never have the opportunity to turn their passions into a full-time career. Which is BS!
Our solution.
Focus is to onboard artists as they are the backbone of Hive's marketplace! My job was to make it visually stunning and user friendly!
2. The Brand of Hive.
One of the largest roles to cover was the whole branding of Hive. The I took several days to develop the look and feel of Hive. Trying to make it high-tech and match the crypto industry. So, I explored making it have the vibe of 80’s retro meets modern hip-hop and designing the logo with multiple variations that I shared to the team.

  • Collaboration - The ability for the user to purchase their favorite artist’s NFT and to be able to come closer is what Hive values.

The majority of our inspiration came from these pictures. Trying to match the emotion and aesthetic as much as possible. Because these NFT gurus will want to look at something pretty.

I'm proud to say that I designed the majority of the screens after gaining a deep understanding of our users through collaboration with my teammates. Starting from the initial sketches all the way to the final high-fidelity designs, I was fully involved in the design process. As a great accomplishment, I also created a clickable wireframe to demonstrate the final outcome.

Keep track of your personally owned music and artist NFTs with Hive. Easily share and showcase your collection on your personal profile page. Whether you're an avid collector or just starting out, our platform allows you to track and display your NFT purchases with ease.

Place a bid on an NFT from Snoop Dogg's personal account, it will automatically be collected into the main profile to be in the bidding selection. This feature not only saves time and effort, but it also ensures that the bid is easily accessible and organized within the main profile.

Key Take Aways!
After completing the project, I discovered a mix of positive and negative aspects. I was pleased with the branding, but identified areas for improvement in the user experience, specifically related to visual design. One specific area for improvement is the navigation bar, which could be updated to provide better indication of the current page within the application.
The assignment provided valuable insight into working with a new user group - NFT gurus. Despite initially being unfamiliar with this selection of users, through careful observation and understanding, the final product was successfully created and produced great visual results.
