This is,
Worked with the hiring firm, TalentReef, to redesign their web interface. They currently only have a desktop based service and are looking to expand it to mobile. Our persona that we designed for was hiring managers. In their research, TalentReef found that hiring managers using their platform needed more freedom and flexibility to use the service while on the go.
A Talent management platform: Applicant tracking system.
Overview
What is talentReef?
A talent management platform built for location-based, high-volume hiring- the hourly workforce. It is an applicant tracking system with other modules that help to recruit and retain employees.
What they want us to solve?
Redesign the overview and detail view that allows hiring managers to do the following:
1. Review candidates.
2. Complete the steps in their workflow to engage with and hire an applicant.
Success Criteria.
1. The product is responsive and optimized for mobile usage.
2. Managers should be able to see a list of candidates and view the details of each individual.
3. You have organized the information and prioritized the most crucial pieces to the user.
Data we were given.
talentReefs original Web interface.
Down below are the key features to be looked at in the transition from web to mobile.
Learning the User.
After looking through their interviews and understanding the everyday hiring manager, we found that:
1. Managers are always on the go.
2.No office space for in-depth applicant research.
3.Difficult access to outside work hours.
Organizing the Data.
The team and I prioritized some thoughts, and we had some routes and ideas on where we could take for this section of ideation. It was also helpful when some of the TalentReef team came in and saw some pictures and thought processes working on the problems given.
The ideas we prioritized.
Descriptive icons
The mobile web app has some icons, but we found some that seemed broad, and we figured it is best to make them more descriptive, so the user will automatically know what the CTA is from the icon.
Viewing options
We also liked the idea of creating customization for the hiring manager to look at a grid or listed view. Whatever fits best for the user.
Color coding
Is the applicant hired or fired? We liked the idea of having it color-coded, so you know who is what based on the color. Just from the hiring manager's action in the hiring process, the applicant will be designated to that color—red for fired, Green for Hired, etc.

High Fidelity
First time using Figma and creating a high fidelity mockup.

Final Notes.
Take aways.
This being my first attempt at High fidelity mockups on Figma, I was pleased with the final results. Especially after hearing the feedback. There is still much improvement on the screens and layout, but it sure excelled me forward in my Visual skills and wire-framing. It was also my first time working with actual clients and providing help to an industry needing some assistance.
